We are a fully remote organization of researchers, data scientists, communications professionals, and advertising gurus. We are published authors, photographers, triathletes, and world travelers. We are moms, dads, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. We are volunteers in our communities and champions for work/life balance.

Our Hiring Process

Typically, individuals will participate in the interview process as outlined below. However, there may be slight nuances given the role and/or department involved in the hiring process. Please keep in mind that a decision on an individual’s candidacy can made at any stage during this process:

Initial Screening: Qualified individuals will be invited to schedule a phone interview with a member of our recruiting team. This is a great opportunity to ask any initial questions you have about the company, benefits, life at CivicScience, and the qualities needed to succeed here.
Interview with Hiring Manager: We’ll connect you with your potential manager, who will conduct a full interview. You’ll have a chance to highlight your knowledge, skills, and experience while learning more about CivicScience and the particular role that interests you.
Next Steps: You may be asked to perform an interview exercise where you can highlight your capabilities. Next, or in parallel, you’ll interview with potential team members.

At Awesome Gym Inc., we’re building a continuous monitoring platform specifically targeted at the challenges of cloud security for elastic infrastructure. Our platform gives our customers deep visibility into their systems’ behaviors and helps to identify potentially anomalous actions of users and processes.

Our web application is built in React and Node.js, with a powerful back-end leveraging several high-scale platforms. We’re looking to expand to additional technologies and toolkits as our data visualization and event processing needs scale. We expect you to be psyched about learning new languages and platforms quickly, and passionate about finding the right solution for the job. We’re an agile team, so we’re definitely looking for solid generalists that are enthusiastic about taking on any task.

What We Offer

What You’ll Do

Build front-end components that help our customers understand their own security posture
Leverage and improve back-end APIs that power our website
Spend more time coding and less time on deployment
We use Threat Stack to protect Threat Stack. We want you to use our product and be vocal about how we can improve it – if it works for you, it’s likely going to work for our customers

What We’re Looking For

Experience with web development using JavaScript
Experience with a programming language like Java or C++
Experience with server-side technologies
Someone that puts a value on their code quality and tests it

What Gets Us Extra Excited to Talk to You

Experience styling using SASS, LESS or similar tools
Experience optimizing a web page for browser performance
You can talk through the pros/cons of using webpack
You have opinions on React or Angular, and you can put those aside to solve a problem
